| With her brother Kronos Rhea had five children. The gods Zeus, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades und Poseidon. Afraid of being deprieved of his power like his father at one time, Uranos devoured all his children. But Rhea saved Zeus by giving Kronos a stone which was wrapped in diapers. Thinking it was Zeus Kronos devoured the stone. Rhea was an important goddess in Creta, Arcadia and Phrygia. Like Gaia she seemed to be a mothergoddes. |
